Interlibrary Loan (ILLO)
Interlibrary Loan Service Discontinued
The Southern Ontario Library Service’s Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) Delivery Service ceased as of Friday, April 26, 2019. On May 31st, SOLS provided updated information to libraries about the role it will play in coordinating the lending of materials via Interlibrary Loan.
The Niagara Falls Public Library (NFPL) is now determining how to proceed and continue to provide the best customer service possible. Please note that new ILLO requests will not be taken at this time. We will keep you informed of any further developments.
Please see FAQs for more information.
NFPL customers are still able to place holds on materials within the four Niagara Falls Public Library locations and have them transferred to another NFPL location for pick up. You may also continue to return your NFPL materials to any of the four locations.
We would like to remind customers about the Reciprocal Borrowing agreement we have in place with Fort Erie, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelham, Thorold and Welland Public Libraries, which allows you to borrow from these libraries' collections. For information about Reciprocal Borrowing, please visit Reciprocal Borrowing with Niagara Region Libraries or speak with staff at any NFPL location.
Below are links to the catalogues of libraries that are part of the Reciprocal Borrowing agreement to assist you in searching for items that aren't in NFPL's collection. As a reminder, customers must travel to the lending library to pick up and return their items.
