NFPL Ready For Summer

To say that Niagara Falls Public Library is getting ready is an understatement. What are we getting ready for? The time when all libraries will have customers in and out of its doors. The day when the laughter of children echoes throughout. The day when learning new skills, choosing a new book, listening to great music and engaging in conversation happens once again. What a great time that will be! Until then, your library is getting ready to once again greet its customers.
It’s been a long-standing joke that is often asked of library workers - the one that goes like, ‘So what do you do all day at the library...read?!’ If all we did was read, we wouldn’t have time to create great programs, assist with technology questions or provide great customer service, but we would be able to recommend even more great books than we do already. The Library is taking pride in preparing our spaces, continuing to issue library cards, packing orders for customers, selecting great new books, developing new and exciting online programs, undergoing further reader’s advisory training and envisioning our space for reopening.  While we wait for that time, don’t forget about some of the great services and programs that are still going on and some that are upcoming for summer 2021 including Summer Reading Club.
Victoria, Chippawa and Community Centre library locations currently have public computers available for use. Sessions may be booked for 30 minutes with a maximum of 90 minutes per day based on availability while we comply with COVID-19 related health and safety procedures. Sessions may be booked ahead of time with a library card and walk-ins are welcome.
Have gardening questions? Master Gardener Kit Thompson will be happy to offer friendly, expert advice. This advice clinic is open to both novice and seasoned gardeners. Let's talk gardening!  This program will run online using Google Meet and is open to all ages, running to the end of June on Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m.  Registration is required.
