NF Weekly Review Column for week of November 1, 2021

Customer Service Librarian
Are things getting back to normal at Niagara Falls Public Library? Is that the pre-pandemic normal or should we be looking at the ‘new’ normal we now have in the world? In checking that word ‘normal’ out with the trusted Merriam-Webster dictionary, we read: conforming to a type, standard or regular pattern. Well, we can work with that definition to say that we are getting back to a regular pattern more and more each day. Customers are feeling safe and confident to return in person to browse books, DVDs and many other great materials that we have at the library. NFPL has space available to study, to work quietly, to read and work at the computer. Kids can use our computers as well as the Early Literacy computer stations. Normal is looking better and better each day.
The weather is changing rapidly these days and that can mean some of our customers may feel unsafe driving in the winter weather. If that’s the case, please give us a call about our Visiting Library Service (VLS). VLS is a service we provide that delivers library materials once a month to customers who due to age, injury or disability, cannot get to the Library. VLS delivers to senior homes, so if you have a loved one residing in one of these places and they need some Library materials please call us, email us or drop by for more information and how to get started.
It’s hard to go anywhere these days without noticing the ‘Help Wanted’ signs. If you are looking for a job, why not check out our website at my.nflibrary.ca/NiagaraLinks. If you’re looking to create and print out your resume, the Library is here for you. Drop in to use either your own laptop or one of our computers and print out your resume. If you’re pressed for time and would like us to print it for you, please upload your resume to our form at my.nflibrary.ca/App/Printing. We’ll call you when it’s all done. Now that’s convenient!
