Borrow some fun from the Niagara Falls Public Library for March break

The Niagara Falls Public Library is adding seven new board games to our collection. They’ll be ready for you to borrow on March 10. All you need is a valid library card, and you can check them out for up to a week with the possibility of two renewals.

Here’s an annotated list of the new games.

ANIMAL UPON ANIMAL
Crocodiles, monkeys, parrots, lizards, penguins, snakes, sheep and hedgehogs abound in this fun stacking game! Players must take turns placing an animal on top of other animals until the whole animal tower falls down and someone is declared the stacking champion. This is a great game for little ones.

ARK NOVA
In Ark Nova, you get to build your very own zoo and conservation reserves. Points are awarded according to the appeal of your zoo, the scientific reputation of your projects and the success of your conservation efforts, among other things. This is a fun strategy game for players ages 14+.

CAMEL UP
This is a board game about camel racing. You choose a character and then bet on which camel you think will win the race. The player who chooses correctly wins. But it’s not that simple, especially when some of the camels start to run the race backwards! This is a zany game of luck and skill that’s perfect for the whole family.

CODENAMES: DUET
If you like Codenames, then you’re going to love Codenames: Duet! In this co-operative game, you and your team need to identify your agents using one-word clues. At the same time, you must avoid the enemy assassins out to get you! This word game is perfect for adults, teens and older kids.

DON’T L.L.A.M.A.
Don’t Let Llamas And Markers Accumulate (L.L.A.M.A.) in this silly card game! To win, you need to have the fewest markers in your hand. Otherwise, the llama will take first place. Gameplay is only 20 minutes, so you can play a few rounds with family or friends to decide who the ultimate champion really is!

PROJECT L
This tile-based board game is a bit like a multiplayer version of Tetris. You’ll get a set of tiles and then pick a puzzle card. You then have to figure out the best way to fit the tiles you have into the puzzle card you've picked up. The more puzzle cards you can solve, the better! This game is awesome for the whole family.

VITICULTURE
Pour yourself a glass of your favourite Italian vintage and settle in for a marvellous strategy game. In Viticulture, you own a pathetic vineyard, and your goal is to turn it into the most successful winery in Tuscany! Dare you take on the challenge? Viticulture is best suited for adult players.
