The Library Has Something For Everyone!

Three scenarios - does one fit you?

Picture this, you’ve worked hard on this assignment for school and poured all of your energies into getting it all written up. You admire your work, the charts, graphs and beautiful pics you’ve added. You hit the print button on your computer and the flashing printer window appears -- out of ink! Good grief, what now?  Who will take care of this printing for you?

The Niagara Falls Public Library will!

The Library understands that frustration and offers a Print Pick Up service. Go to our Print Pickup page, follow the instructions and upload your document. You decide where to pick it up. How convenient!

Most days, Mary follows the same routine. She slowly wakes, gets dressed and makes her way to the kitchen for breakfast. She turns on the radio for a bit of news, only to find it the same as yesterday, depressing and not much in the way of comfort or interest to her. She’s not driving much anymore and even if she did she’s fearful of going anywhere and getting ‘the virus’.

What Mary doesn’t know is that the Library has a free delivery of materials once a month that she may quite like to take a look at and read. There are books, CDbooks, music CDs, Playaways and DVDs. A phone call once a month to arrange the delivery would be a welcome call - a friendly voice - someone to chat with for a bit.

This is the Visiting Library Service provided by the Niagara Falls Public Library. Connecting those who cannot get out because of age, illness or disability with resources to enrich their lives. Mary is not a real person but if you know a ‘Mary’ please have her give us a call at 905-356-8080 and ask about the Visiting Library Service.

You’re never going to figure out this technology - or at least that’s what you keep telling everyone. Even your grandkids know more than you. This is so embarrassing. How will you ever get someone to really sit down with you and talk about this laptop?

The Niagara Falls Public Library will!

The Library is always happy to try and answer any questions you have over the phone, but if you’d like some more in depth assistance, please give us a call and we will book you a Tech Time with our expert. If you’re worried about coming in person these days, no problem, there’s a phone or virtual option as well. Give us a call to book your Tech Time at 905-356-8080 or visit here to book an appointment

The holidays are over and spring is just around the corner so it sounds like a good time to purge, as they say, all that is unnecessary and start fresh. This may be easier said than done. For some of us, it means clearing out all that we had collected in 2020 and packing it up for donation or worse yet, the landfill!

It’s only the end of January, but admit it: we can already sense that warmer weather is on its way. And with that comes the desire to get out of the cities and explore the great outdoors.

Have you heard the news?

The Library is open!

2020-09-01

While the world has been busy working through how to deal with the coronavirus, the Library has been working hard on how to provide services and more recently, how to re-open safely.

On June 8, the Niagara Falls Public Library began Curbside Pick Up at the Victoria Avenue Library location. As a compliment to the digital collection, the Library is offering access to its physical collections through a Pick Up service that is safe for customers and Library staff.
