The Niagara Falls Public Library is offering a wide range of Gardening, Health and Wellness programs this Spring! Join us Monday March 9th at 7pm as food writer Lynn Ogryzlo talks about the benefits and pitfalls of the Keto Diet. On Thursday March 5th at 7pm Master Gardener Kit Thompson will teach you how to make floral designs and arrangements with items from your garden.
Seeds, seeds, seeds! Ask a Master Gardener all your seed questions, ideas, and concerns on Sunday March 8th at 1:30pm. Have your houseplants outgrown their pots? Come by Monday March 9th at 6:30pm for tips and demonstrations on how to have your plants ready for a new gardening season.
Niagara’s conservation areas have much to offer, whether it’s natural heritage features, rich local history, beautiful hiking trails or recreational activities for all ages. Join Kerry Royer for an interactive presentation on Niagara’s conservation areas. This program runs Monday March 9th at 2pm.
Join us Friday March 6th at 7pm for an Author Reading with Adam Shoalts. Named by CBC as “one of the greatest living explorers”, professional adventurer Adam Shoalts will share his incredible 4,000 kilometre journey across Canada’s Arctic wilderness.
Check out People instead of Books! On March 21st, join our Human Library and ‘check out’ a person who has experience with homelessness or affordable housing. Difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered in this opportunity to celebrate differences and encourage understanding of our community around us. The Human Library is presented in partnership with Niagara Region and Niagara Regional Housing.
New to the library! Visit Victoria on Tuesday March 10th for our new Short Story Social program. Listen to one or two short stories while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some great company.
Spring Cleaning! What’s stopping you from getting organized? Join Trained Professional Organizer and owner of Mind over Clutter, Julie Strobbe on Thursday March 26th at 6:30pm to help get organized.
Launch into March Break at the library! Come and join Club Rex for a hands-on exploration of dinosaurs and prehistory! Learn all about the newest dinosaur discoveries from the last few years. Registration is required. Or stop by our drop-ins running throughout the week at all locations.

While the world has been busy working through how to deal with the coronavirus, the Library has been working hard on how to provide services and more recently, how to re-open safely.
This week marks the 132nd anniversary of the opening of Canada’s first provincial park when Queen Victoria Park officially opened on May 24, 1888.
The Niagara Falls Public Library temporarily closed our doors at all four locations on Friday, March 13th 2020 until April 5th 2020. This was our immediate response to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and align with provincial measures to support social distancing.
