Teen Volunteers

Do you need to earn community service hours?  Do you like to work with kids? Are you at least 14 years old?

Join NFPL’s Teen Library Volunteers!

Help with Kids' Crafts, March Break and Summer Reading Club.


Step 1: Print and fill out an application and submit it to the library. Applications can be sent to programming@nflibrary.ca or dropped off at any NFPL location.

Step 2: Wait for your approval email with the Signup Genius instructions.

Step 3: Visit our Signup Genius page and sign up for volunteer gigs at the library.

Reading Buddies Volunteers

If you like working with children, enjoy reading, and want to help emerging readers, we need you! Reading Buddies volunteers mentor children in Grades 1-4 with reading practice, literacy-based activities and fun. Dungeons & Dragons with The Frugal Dutchman

Join Christian from the Frugal Dutchman - a locally owned store in Ridgeway - and learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons. Beginners welcome!

Looking for a job? YMCA Youth Job Employment Services can help! Visit us at the Library to learn about their services and get on-site résumé critiques, interview preparation information, program details and more.

Piano Performance

Join Terrence Wu, Grade 10 student at Sir Winston Churchill High School in St Catharines, for a lecture-recital. Topic: Mozart’s Piano Sonata, K331 in A Major (containing the famous “Rondo alla Turca.”)  This lecture-recital is a learning outcome of a placement Terrence is doing at Brock University’s Department of Music.

St. John Ambulance - Babysitting Basics

Developed by a team of child care professionals, trained babysitters, St. John Ambulance instructors and parents, this course teaches new babysitters the skills necessary to care for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. It emphasizes safety, dealing with emergencies and first aid basics.
